Effective August 27, 2026
Privacy policy
Our principles
- Local first: your library is stored in your browser first
- Data minimization: process only what a feature needs
- Active choice: optional cloud features require a clear action
- Portability: export a recoverable JSON backup
Data processed locally
BirdSafe stores the posts you choose to back up, author details, links, dates, engagement data, media indexes, folders, tags, and settings in your browser. Installing the extension does not automatically upload a complete cloud copy unless you actively use an online feature.
Online services and processors
| Context | Data that may be processed | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| BirdSafe account | Email, display name, sign-in identifier | Authentication and access |
| Dodo Payments | Orders, payment status, subscription ID | Checkout, billing, and subscription management |
| Cloudflare | Request logs and necessary service data | API hosting, database, and security |
| Notion | Saves and fields you choose to sync | Write to authorized pages or databases |
| MCP client | Results requested through the connection | Use your library in a connected AI tool |
Cloud media mirroring
Cloud media mirroring is optional and off by default. BirdSafe sends media copies to the configured cloud storage only after you enable it. You can stop future uploads at any time; deletion of existing copies follows the product interface and the storage provider's rules.
Diagnostics and product analytics
BirdSafe may collect minimal version, feature event, error category, and performance information to understand whether the product works. Twitter/X passwords, full payment card details, and complete MCP Keys are not analytics content.
Your controls
- Delete local saves and organization data
- Export a recoverable JSON backup
- Turn off optional cloud media mirroring
- Revoke Notion and MCP connections
- Manage billing or request account data through account support
Retention and security
Local data follows your browser and device lifecycle. Account, order, and subscription records are retained as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal duties. We use access controls, transport encryption, and secret isolation, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
